Spectacular "100 Years from Now" Suffrage Cloth titled "Women's Rights 1981 and What Came of It," 21" x 23", English, circa 1881. Sharp, bright images. One or two very small stains mentioned only for the sake of accuracy. Intact without tears. This remarkable bandana peers into the future and posits what will happen in one hundred years if women achieve their demands. It pictures a series of vignettes of women in "men's occupations," and shows men assuming "women's roles." Although an English spoof, suffrage was international, and the equal franchise movement in America in the twentieth century was much indebted to tactics and arguments developed first in England. A few of these cloth pieces are known, but this is probably the best in terms of condition.

Shipping: Small Collectibles (view shipping information)
