There is a beautiful side notch point at 1.0 in/ 25 mm made of chalcedony in this lot. But the real jem is the blunt point or stunner point at 1.25 in./ 31 mm. It does not appear to be a scraper tool because it has soft shoulders, an expanding stem with a concave base; as if it should be mounted on a shaft. A stunner or blunt is used today to hunt small game and birds (in archery). However, this tool may predate the bow by a considerable time and very little has been written about them. The architecture appears archaic or earlier; from Sioux County, Nebraska. Not far from another projectile point style: Scottsbluff, Neb. Evidently Nebraska has been a grassland for a millennium or considerably longer. From the Bracken collection. Please see photos for closer details. Nebraska Bracken Estate
