Manufactured in 1888, this Third Model rifle is equipped with a special order 30" octagon barrel and dust cover rail integrally machined to the top of the receiver. German silver blade front and buckhorn rear sights and full magazine. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/King's patent dates marking ahead of the rear sight and "32 W.F.C." at the breech. The brass cartridge carrier is marked "32 CAL", the model designation is on the upper tang flanked by the foliate design and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

Condition: Very good plus. The rifle retains 25% original blue finish (mostly in the protected areas) with the balance a mottled gray-brown patina. There is some very scattered minor spotting. The wood is also very good with some minor dings and scratches with most of the finish remaining. Mechanically fine.
