<B>Special Edition Comics #1 Crowley Copy pedigree (Fawcett, 1940) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Cream to off-white pages.</B></I> This one-shot is the first comic book entirely devoted to Captain Marvel; yes, the hero was already the star of <B>Whiz Comics</B></I>, but he shared that title with a bunch of other characters. This comic was reportedly a try-out to test whether kids would buy a comic that was all about Captain Marvel; we don't need to tell you that it succeeded, as <B>Captain Marvel Adventures</B></I> appeared soon thereafter and became the bestselling comic on the stands. Captain Marvel's #1 artist, C. C. Beck, drew the issue's now-famous cover. Only a little damage to the corners keeps this one from grading higher. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $2,517; VF 8.0 value = $5,873.
