Kirk Douglas was so enamored with Stanley Kubrick's directorial skills that the star recruited the director to make this classic story about the true revolt of the slaves against the Roman Empire. The film featured a huge cast including Laurence Olivier, Tony Curtis, Woody Strode, Jean Simmons, Charles Laughton and Peter Ustinov. This fantastic one sheet is from the Roadshow release and is exceptionally scarce. The artwork along the bottom edge of the poster is by Saul Bass. It has one very fine pin hole in each corner and has had minimal touch up work done to the fold lines and center points where there was slight color flaking.
