Spanish Miqulet carbine converted from flintlock to percussion originally circa late 18th to early 19th century showing classic style Spanish stock and huge bore flared round barrel. There is a reminant of asignature on the lock that was mostly removed when converted. The hammer shows typical Spanish type lion. The carbine measures 33” overall with a 21” barrel of nearly 1” across the inside bore. The stock is nicely raisedand incised carved. The rear band is of worked silver or German silver and matches the design on the ramrod ferule. There is a belt hook attached to the left rear lock screw and the gun is iron mounted. The metalsurfaces show a gray to brown patina finish and the stocks are good to very good with a light old recoating of finish but no evidence of sanding. The lock is not staying on full cock. A typical Spanish colonial arm of thestyle which Trabuco Canyon was named after in Southern California. A Trabuco was a small size large bore carbine or blunderbuss. Est.: $900-$1,800.
