Spanish Miquelet flintlock fowler circa late 18th or early 19th century; 48-1/4” overall with a 34” barrel, of approx. 12 gauge smoothbore, the barrel is nicely silver inlaid at the breech and shows a maker’scartouche with a five-pointed crown, the letters “EUQ, CA, Jor IP”; there is a marking stamped just behind the trigger guard in the stock which may be a collection ID but not quite visible; the gun shows iron mountings,lightly engraved lock, wood is good with small losses at the top edge, some chips and breaks along the edge of the fore end; the butt stock portion is in the Catalan style; generally good overall; some light rust anderosion; there is a marking at the left rear breech “AP” with a small proof.
