Spanish American War era clip point Bowie knife, similar to Collins but unmarked, showing 15" clip point blade, 20" overall, wooden grip with circular grooves, leather with brass mounted scabbard. The blademeasures 1-1/2" across widest part, in good condition showing most of its bright polish with areas of pitting and erosion, mostly towards the tip and edge. The grip is good, the scabbard is fair to good with some smalllosses, darkening and normal leather aging. There is a crude belt loop that is a period addition to the back of the knife. We would date this knife at 1890-1915 and the clip point makes it desirable. Est.: $250-$500
