Handwritten Spaceship Sketches by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Signed Twice. One page, two sided, 8 x 4.5", n.p., n.d. Tsiolkovsky was a Russian rocket scientist and space travel theorist who published more than 500 works on space travel and related subjects. Among his works are designs for rockets with steering thrusters, multi-stage boosters, space stations, airlocks, and closed biological systems designed to provide oxygen and food for space colonists. On one side of the paper, Tsiolkovsky has sketched a spaceship and made notes about "liquid hydrogen" and "liquid oxygen" regarding its propulsion systems. On the verso, in part: "Both liquid gasses are separated by a barrier. (A) The place of mixing gasses and their explosions. (B) The screw of strongly less tense and cold gasses." The scientists scribbles a few more thoughts on the matter, then scratches them out and writes "WRONG. K. Tsiolkovsky" at the bottom of the sheet. Paper is moderately age toned with a few light creases at corners.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Smal (view shipping information)
