Space Shuttle Challenger NASA Photos
This is a pair of very rare color photographs from the NASA archives featuring members of the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger, which exploded shortly after take-off in Jan. 1986. The first photo is titled 'Teacher in Space,' and is of Christa McAuliffe, who was the first civilian space flight participant and who perished on the flight, and teacher Barbara Morgan, her back up for the mission. The back of the photo includes a description of the events that were to have happened during the flight. The second photo is a rare and amazing image of the entire crew of that fateful flight.
