Lot of 2 photographs of Native Indian women in traditional dress. 1) Part of the “Yuma Indians” photo series produced by E.A. Bonnie Photography of Los Angeles, CA. Bonnie had been in California since 1876, and based out of Pasadena since the 1880s. The photograph has some minor fading and wear. It measures 4” x 6.75” and 4.75” x 7.15” on matte. The Quechan, or more commonly known “Yuma” Indians have lived around the Colorado River for about 2,500 years and used the river for farming. Their pottery and baskets are considered to be some of the finest. 2) Titled “Zuni Bell” the photo measures 5.5” 3.70” and 4.25” x 6.5” on the matte. The Zuni language is considered to be a language isolate, meaning it does not share any similarities with any other surrounding languages.
