Very Unusual Southwest Wedding Vase, signed and dated !!!</em></td>

Presented here is a Southwest Indian Wedding Vase. It is signed on bottom; (artist unknown to me), and marked AZ, 39 (for Arizona, 1939) ! This is not a typically designed indian vase. Although the form, base beige clay, and symbols are typical, The overall glaze decoration is atypical! It is fired with a high gloss finish on top. It is rust in coloring with dark brown or black specks evenly proportioned throughout. It has a molten / gunmetal gray finish around mouth openings.
The bottom half is defined by this molten / gunmetal gray in the form of a central band with three drips along each side, the center one being the longest. On front portion of vase,this same molten finish creates a circle design inwhich there are four quadrants. In each one, there is a design. I am not sure what all the symbols stand for, however I believe one to be a bear claw, and one to be a rain dancer. The one in the upper left quadrant has a small bit of black polychrome decoration. These designs are made up of the high gloss finish(from top half), and the molten/gunmetal finish! To the sides of this circle, there are curved arrows with arrowheads. These designs are made with the same finishes. On the back of vase, there is a zig-zag pattern accented with arrowhead ends and exclamation arrows at the angles of pattern!
