Southern Plains Indian Skull Cracker War Club 19th
This is an exceptional authentic example of a Southern Plains Native American Indian Skullcracker (Skull Cracker) War Club from the 19th Century. The piece is from the Ted Poley Collection in Indiana. The war club features a polished stone head measuring 6.5” W. The long, thin wooden haft is wrapped in a rawhide leather that is sinew sewn and shows a wonderful long, frilly fringe cut drop affixed with brass trade tacks. The club shows the proper signs of age and use with very minor dings and nicks on the head, all indicative of its very early authentic age. The piece shows wonderful art appeal and form and would be a fantastic addition to any American Indian Weapons collection. The piece measures overall 22.75”L with an additional 15”L fringe drop.
