<td width="100%">
This is a very nice early Southern Louisiana Creole made bed. It was made in the lower Mississippi River valley region. This bed is from the French Creole Lemarie family of New Orleans and came out of the family Townhouse on Royal street in the French Quarter. It was use by girls in the family in the 19th century at the Ursuline Convent. Originally the bed was a bigger bed. The bed dates from around 1820 1830. Around the mid 19th century it was made into a smaller bed to be used at the Ursuline Convent by the girls of the Lemarie family. The bed is a few inches from being a twin bed. It is made of hand pegged and hand planed finely figured cherry wood. The head and footboard have delicately hand turned spindles each one a little different. If any one is interested in seeing the bed in person please feel free to email me and I would be happy to make arrangements. The Condition is very good. The wood needs to be cleaned and polished. . Dimensions: headboard Height 42" by 33" footboard height 38" by 33".Local pickup or the buyer has to arrange own shipping from zip 70116.
