Griquatown bronze Penny (1890), KM-Pn6 (2 stars on reverse), Victoria Young Head, PR63 BN NGC, not really "brown" but exhibiting about 50% sparkling mint red on the mirror surfaces, mottled appearance but quite appealing, sharp proof details and quite choice. Reverse features the charming motif of the dove flying with a sprig of olive branch over the far reaches of the colony, symbolizing the vast geography of the area plus the endurance of early British explorers who dealt with the dry climate and hostile native inhabitants whom they conquered for settlement. Rare and in great demand.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
