The sale includes 250 lots of spectacular Gold Rush era gold coins (mostly double eagles), gold bars (many from rare private California mints), and nuggets salvaged from the steamer, 'S.S. Central America,' which sank off the coast of North Carolina in 1857. The history of many of the private mints are also provided, along with many vivid color photographs.
