The sale includes lots covering the period from Constantine the Great to Anastasius I, Justin I, Justinian I, Justin II and Tiberius II Constantine, Anastasius II, Artavasdus, Irene, Michael I with Theofylactus, Michael II, Michael III with Theodora and Thecla, Basil I, Basil I with Constantine and Eudocia, Leo VI, Alexander, Constantine VII and Zoe, Basil II and Constantine VIII, Romanus III, Michael IV, Zoe and Theodora. The later periods of the Empire are similarly well covered. The collection is equally rich in bronze coinage both common and rare, and there are splendid runs of the more familiar solidi, generally in a superb state of preservation. New York.
