This Sonneberg-type Paper Mache is fabulous. Her outfit alone is to die for!! The dress is a silk plaid in soft yellow, green, and grey, with black velvet ribbon accents and cotton very fine lace collar. The skirt is carthage pleated at the waist and the dress is fully lined in a muslin. I did not undress her, as the dress is fragile and has wear in the back. From unhooking the bodice, I can see a chemise, bloomers, and petticoat of cotton with eyelet lace and cotton lace. Someone cared alot to dress her so richly! She has a cotton muslin body, very heavy and tight. The lower legs appear to be recovered in a tight cotton jersey and she has old leather shoes. Her face paint is bright and has very little paint loss. Her nose has one area of paint loss on the very tip. There is some paint chipping on her hair, but very small areas. She is museum quality paper mache! Her arms are leather individually sewn fingers. There is one finger on the left hand that is slightly loose and unsewn.
