Sonic Youth Original Album On Neutral Signed By Drummer Richard Edson
Sonic Youth Original Album On Neutral Signed By Drummer Richard Edson - Historians of American Rock, love to find iconic watershed bands that define new sounds, new waves, new direction in the ever changing art form. One of the most important and inspirational bands of the late 1970's (and still going strong) is "Sonic Youth". Besides the vocals of Kim Gordon, and guitar of Thurston Moore, perhaps what created their special sound more than anything was the beat and drive of their original drummer Richard Edson. He gave the band it's unique beat, then left it after only a year to play with another classic iconic band, Konk. It was at this time that this extremely unique looking multi-talented energetic artist was discovered by Hollywood, (he was first approached by cult director Jim Jarmusch to play Eddie, in his classic "Stranger Than Paradise") which began his amazing career as "that face you know from everything, but can't put a name on it". From Edson's personal collection this is a truly rare piece of Sonic Youth history. It is one of the only remaining original "Sonic Youth" first albums, on the Neutral Label, recorded at Radio City Music All in New York. Dozens of reissues have come out, but this is the very first pressing from the original release company. It includes "The Burning Spear", "I Dream I Dreamed", "She Is Not Alone", "I Don't Want To Push It", and "The Good And The Bad". This treasured find come from Richard Edson's personal collection. He will sign and personalize the album or the dust sleeve to the buyer.
