Solomon Southwick - Early Printer Southwick was a Colonial era printer who printed copies of the Declaration of Independence to circulate in the towns of Rhode Island. He was closely associated with the Franklin printing interests. The letter is an instruction to Joseph Clarke, Esq., requesting that a law book be loaned to Francis Skinner. Southwick printed a copy of the Declaration of Independence for each of the 28 towns in Rhode Island. Only eight are known to survive.Very Fine.
