Featured in this lot is this set of Society of Montana Pioneers ribbons, circa 1922-1924. There are three medals with ribbons in this collection. The first has two medals and ribbon from Missoula, Montana from the Society of Montana Pioneers for its 39th annual meeting in 1922, the upper medal displays two men panning for gold in a mountain stream, the lower medal features three scenes including the state motto shield; the second has two medals and ribbon from Deer Lodge, Montana from the Society of Montana Pioneers for their 40th annual meeting from 1923, the upper medal features "Member" while the lower medal has a wagon scene; the third has two medals and ribbon from Butte, Montana from the Society of Montana Pioneers for their 41st annual meeting from 1924, the upper medal features the big "M" on Big Butte looming over the city, the lower medal is a facsimile of the state of Montana featuring cities, rivers and mountain ranges. All the medals were made by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark, N.J. The condition of these colourful ribbons and medals is good, with slight wear to the ribbons due to age and storage, rich patina covers the medals. 4.75"L, 2.75"L, and 4"L respectively.
