An important grouping of books with original drawings and signatures.
a) “Joe Beeler,” by Don Hedgpeth, 2004. With inscription, "To Snuff and Nettie to all the wild cows in all the wild places, from yer ole friend Joe Beeler CA" with drawing of a man in a sombrero.
b) “Painting Faces, Figures, and Landscapes,” by Everett Raymond Kinstler. Contains a wonderful drawing of Zorro and inscribed "For Snuff, Zorro doesn't age but the artist does! Hope you may look kindly upon my words and pictures - Best. RK 1982"
c) “Tom Ryan: a painter in Four Sixes Country,” by Deal Krakel, 1971 with slip cover. 2 colorful original drawings by Ryan on the title page: a cowboy on a bucking horse against the moon, and a cowboy (Tom) “taking care of business” in the woods. Inscribed "With all best regards to Snuff - from the one "mooning in the morning" painting sketch to another "mooning in the .... Tom”. Laid inside the book is a Christmas card with original signature in gold ink “Best ALWAYS – Jacquie and Tom Ryan” with a sketch of a cowboy in profile.
d) “Dream Spinner - The Art of Roy Anderson,” by Jan Adkins, 2000, 1st. Inscribed "To Garrett's Nettie and "Snuff" may the trail ride easy Roy Anderson" with brand and drawing of Native American bust. Includes a nice drawing of an Indian man on horseback, inscribed "Snuff- Look out for the Injuns - Roy"
e) “Olaf Wieghorst,” by William Reed, 1971. Indian bust pencil sketch and personal inscription, “To Snuff Garrett / With best wishes for a / happy trail ahead. / Olaf Wiefhorst [brand].” Laid in front and included is a rather personal note on a Wieghorst Leanin’ Tree greeting card from Mae Wieghorst, written approximately six months after Olaf’s death that talks about his passing.
