Produced during the Victorian Era without sights, with an octagonal muzzle, octagonal breech, and a round central section with beaded borders. Unmarked lockplate, with beaded decoration and a crenelated top on the serpentine, exposed hammer and sear springs, and a hinged pan cover. Smooth stock, with a bone tipped forearm and ramrod, crescent moon and star inlays on the underside, a "+" on the left side behind the reverse plate, a finger rest triggerguard and a round bone panel with a standing dog on top of the wrist. The pommel is a 1 1/2 inch long, 1 1/3 inch wide octagonal ivory ball, with a tapered point and wild animal themed carvings.

Good, with a mixed gray patina on the steel, with scattered spotting and handling marks overall. The stock is good, with a crack on either side in the area of the lockplate and scattered handling marks. The number "71006" has been added on the stock next to the trigger and on the side of the ramrod, possibly a museum inventory number. Mechanically very good.
