Smith percussion SRC, .50 cal., 21-5/8” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, #19794 in overall good to very good condition showing a dark patina on metal surfaces with areas of scattered pitting along top sides of forend andspots of erosion on receiver, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings, front sight blade is an old replacement; wood stock is good with scattered old mars, scratches and an old “JS” carved into the left side of the butt stock;partially visible inspector cartouches on the left wrist; per Flayderman’s, Union cavalry regiments issued Smith carbines included the 3rd W.Va., the 7th and 11th Ill., the 1st Conn., the 7th & 17th Penn. , and the 1st Mass.
