Smith and Wesson 1st Model Hand Ejector “Target” revolver, .44 S&W Special caliber, Serial #2697. The pistol is in fine overall condition with a 6 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 90% of its originalblue finish with small scratches along the barrel, light wear at the muzzle and a drag line on the cylinder. There is a small loss of finish at the rear of the frame and along the back strap. The pistol features thedesirable five screw frame and vivid case hardening on the hammer and trigger. The checkered wood gold medallion grips are in very good condition with small mars and storage wear noted. The bore is good, theaction crisp and markings are sharp. Also known as the .44 New Century Triple Lock, 1st Model Hand Ejectors were introduced in 1908 and manufactured until 1915, from the Gil Newton Collection.
