Smith & Wesson second model American, .44 S&W caliber, single action revolver, with 8” barrel, blued finish, wood grips, serial #22121. The revolver remains in very good plus to near fine original condition showing 60-70% original blue, evenly drifting and toning. Areas where the finish has lifted show some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The edges are very sharp, the edges crisp and some areas of very bright blue remain with an undisturbed patina overall. The hammer and triggerguard show considerable case hardening within their patina. The grips are good to very good with some wear at the edges, minor mark, and a couple small chips and losses. The action is tight, the interior near excellent. The cylinder and small parts show matching assembly numbers. A nice original example of a frontier area Smith & Wesson. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
