Smith & Wesson double action .38 caliber 3rd Model revolver, nickel finish, 4” barrel, hard rubber grips, serial number 255433 made about 1890. This Smith & Wesson shows 85% to 95% original nickel with some areas ofpeeling on the cylinder, muzzle, front of frame and firing areas. The areas where the nickel has peeled are gone to a dark patina with some erosion and pitting. The Smith & Wesson may clean well. The trigger and hammer show considerable case hardening. The trigger guard shows 70% thinning blue. The grips are very good and the bore is bright and action tight. Est.: $250-$500
