This is a S&W Model 6060 "Folding Hunter" knife that was made in the 1970s. This pocket knife includes its original box, holster and papers. Superb condition, the knife and sheath rate excellent, they have been well maintained. The blade is immaculate and the box is in great shape, showing light wear. This knife features nickel silver bolsters that are silver soldered to the brass liners and the "Wesson Wood" handles that are locked to the liners with nickel silver rivets. The blade pivots on a full 3/16" diameter pin. The full size 3 1/2" hunter blade is of dropped point design with a flat spine for full working support down to the tip. One piece stainless steel spring and locking bar, overall length open is 8". In 1972 Smith and Wesson worked with well known and innovative knife designer Blackie Collins to introduce the company into the knife business. This program was announced in 1975 and seven knives were initially offered. Called the Survival Series they included a Bowie, Outdoorsman, Survival, Skinner, a Fisherman knife, Filet knife and a Folding Hunting Knife. This is a beautiful and well preserved vintage knife that is a must-have for any S&W collector.
