Smith & Wesson U.S. Property marked Model 1917 DA revolver, .45 caliber, 5.5” barrel, S/N 12624, blued finish, smooth wood grips, lanyard ring, in overall very good + condition showing the majority of its original blue finish with most of loss tofinish from holster wear to the barrel; very good to fine bore, crisp action and markings, grips show an old “X” carved into the left grips and old checkering to the right grip. The gun is accompanied by an old US leather holster byPerkins Campbell dated 1917 and modified to accept a revolver. Also with this lot is a framed typewritten unsigned document that states this gun was removed from a battle casualty American Officer on the Argonne battle ground in France atthe closing of WW I in 1918 by my brother, Leslie Irving Wright who served in the American Army of Occupation. The document further provides additional information on the gun’s descent in the Wright family and ultimate sale to our consignor. (C&R/PPT). Est.: $400-$800.
