Smith & Wesson Triple Lock Hand Ejector Double Action Revolver

Manufactured between 1908 and 1915, the Triple Lock was one of the precursor weapons to Smith & Wesson's Magnum revolvers. Chambered for the then-monstrous 44 Special cartridge, S&W feared that the standard Hand Ejector wouldn't stand up to the strain, and introduced the third cylinder lock on the crane as insurance against the gun getting shaken loose. Half-moon front and notch rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on top of the barrel, "44 S&W SPECIAL CTG" on the left, and the large logo on the side plate. Fitted with a casehardened hammer and trigger, and a pair of smooth grips with S&W medallions.

Very fine, with 90% of the factory refinished blue finish, showing a gray patina on the grip straps and high edges, a few hints of brown on the barrel and cylinder, and mild handling marks and spotting overall. Strong case colors are present in the protected areas of the hammer and trigger. Grips are very good, later replacement, slightly undersized, with light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
