Smith & Wesson Registered Model DA revolver, .357 Magnum cal., 4” barrel, blue finish, checkered medallion wood grips, #59765. This gun is in overall excellent condition. It may well have been returned to the factory for work as the numbers“27” have been stamped into the crane, one over the Reg. 5177 and one under the crane #43889. The gun has a King front sight, checkered top strap, classic Registered Model style swept back hammer and the grips are in excellent condition. The bore is fine, the action crisp and the markings are sharp and if there was a refinish to parts of this gun, the weapon was in excellent condition when it was originally returned for work. Most importantly, a factory letter accompanies this gun with concluding information "...your handgun, with serial number 59765 Reg. NO 5177, was shipped from our factory on Sept. 7, 1939, and delivered to Kansas City Police Dept., Kansas City, MO." The letter also confirms the barrel length, BaughmanQuick Draw front sight on a King Ramp Base, square notch rear sight, blue finish and checkered walnut magna grips.
