Made from 1861 to 1874. German silver blade front sight and notch rear, with "SMITH. & WESSON. SPRINGFIELD, MASS." on top of the barrel and the ejector secured to the lug, which is marked "..8". Unfluted cylinder, with patent dates on the outer surface and "..8" on the face. Frame is numbered "46556" on the butt and "..8" on the left side under the grips, which are two piece smooth rosewood with matching serial number inside the right panel.

Condition: Fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. Grips are also fine, with exception of a few dings around the butt and mild pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
