Civil War era antique single action rimfire revolver, Smith & Wesson, based on serial numbers, sold somewhere between 29,359 (1864 cutoff date) and 48,475 (1865 cutoff date) during the war. Many soldiers privately purchased these to carry in battle. Manufactured 1861-1874. Features blued finish, smooth rosewood two piece grips, 6" octagon barrel, fixed sights, spur trigger, square butt, 6 shot unfluted cylinder, hinged frame tip-up action. Pin under cylinder is used with the removable cylinder ti extract shell casings. Bore is very good bright, strong rifling. frame and cylinder still have a lot of bright blue finish with many minor scratches, barrel has turned a dull gray patina from holster wear. Grips are very good. Action is smooth, lock up is tight. Markings are crisp/clear. Matching serial number is factory stamped on the underside of the right grip panel. Comes with a Hunter brown leather holster and two boxes of 0f Navy Arms .32 short rim-fire smokeless cartridges, one box contains 50 rds the other 15. .Condition is NRA Fine. Antique Firearm.
