Smith & Wesson New Model Number Three Single Action Revolver
Manufactured from 1878 to 1912, this is the improved design of the original Model 3, Smith & Wesson's first top break, automatic ejection revolver. Top of barrel rib is marked with the earlier two line address and patent dates "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN 17 & 24. 65. JULY 11. 65. / AUG 24. 69. APR 20. 75 FEB 20. & DEC 18. 1877 REISSUE JULY 25. 1871.". The matching serial number is marked on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel latch and on the rear of the top strap at the latch. This revolver features a pinned blade front and notched rear sights, all blue trigger finish and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the "S&W" logo.

Condition: Refinished with 98% of the blue finish remaining. There is some minor flaking on the cylinder, a few scattered minor dings and scratches, and pin prick type pitting under the finish on the backstrap. The grips are very good plus with a few minor dings on the lower edges and crisp checkering. The barrel markings are clear. The action is fine.
