Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Single Action Standard Model revolver, .44 cal., 6-1/2” barrel, blue finish, ivory grips, #28780. This gun is in overall very good to excellent condition showing approx. 65% original blue with balance gone to a pleasing patina, some scattered mars and spots of erosion confined primarily to two flats of the cylinder, excellent bore, action and markings. The ivory grips are excellent, appear to be factory and display an excellent mellow color; lanyard ring in the butt, traces of case color on the hammer. Although not present at time of description, consignor states Smith & Wesson factory letter indicated this gun was shipped to Japan. A really nice New Model No. 3 with superb grips. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
