Smith & Wesson New Model #3 Target single-action revolver, .32-44 caliber, nickel plated, target sights, factory cut for shoulder stock, serial 2489, in French style deluxe fitted case, with shoulder stock, leather cigar style cartridge carrier, and box of .32-44 target caliber cartridges by UMC contained in the compartment. The interior of the case shows gold embossed maker’s label. H. Faure, LePage, 8. Rue Richelieu. 8. Paris. The French were known to favor the S&W for target purposes and LePage was a dealer in all types of arms. The Smith & Wesson shows factory offset serial number on butt, and factory mills slot and groove in backstrap for shoulder stock. The pistol is fitted with target front and rear sights, and the revolver retains 85-95% original nickel, drifting at the edges of cylinder and muzzle, with some slight erosion and pinprick pitting where nickel has lifted or flaked. The barrel address is good and the edge of the rib shows a couple of nicks. The action is good, the bore is very good plus.
