'The Bodyguard Airweight' Lightweight small frame double action revolver chambered in 38 Special. Manufactured in Springfield, MA circa 1967. Features a blued 2" pinned barrel with sighting rib, serrated ramp front sight, square notched rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, blued five-shot fluted cylinder, case hardened serrated .240" trigger, shrouded .240” service hammer with serrated spur, three screw round butt alloy JAS frame with black finish, and diamond checkered walnut Magna grips with silver S&W medallions. Includes the original factory two-piece blue cardboard box with matching end label, instructions, kraft paper, screwdriver, and cleaning tools. Includes a factory letter confirming its current configuration as original and stating it was shipped to Olympic Wholesale Co. in Los Angeles, CA on Sep. 29th, 1967. Revolver retains approximately 99% of its original finish showing a few minor losses on the right side of the frame near the grip, a thin drag line on the cylinder, and scattered superficial scratches. The action is mechanically sound with very good lock-up, the bore is excellent, the frame is free of cracks with minor raised edges on/around the sideplate, and the matching walnut grips are near excellent.
