Smith & Wesson Model 1 Second Issue Revolver
This is a fantastic early Smith & Wesson Model 1 Second Issue tip-up single action spur trigger revolver chambered in .22 rimfire caliber, produced by Smith & Wesson circa 1868-1875. The revolver shows a two-tone finish with blue’d octagon 3.25" barrel and brass frame with exotic rare rosewood grips. To reload the weapon, the barrel was tipped up, the cylinder was pulled forward and out of the frame and then the empty shell casings could be poked out by use of the ejector rod under the barrel. It was a simple and sturdy design that worked well. Top of the barrel is marked, "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS." The barrel is marked, "PATENTED APRIL 3, 1855 JULY 5, 1859 & DEC 18, 1860". The revolver shows a fine original condition with a patina’d barrel and brass frame. The grips show very nice condition with only small nicks. Serial Number: 89972. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
