Smith & Wesson Model 1, First Issue, Sixth Type revolver, .22 cal., 3-1/4” barrel, blue and silver finish, rosewood grips, #7337. This gun is in very good condition showing traces of muted blue finish on protected areas with the balance a pleasing grey patina showing an old light cleaning; the brass frame shows approx. 97%-98% silver, the action is crisp, the bore should clean to good and the barrel hinge is tight and unbroken. The grips are very good and show considerable original varnish. Increasingly hard to find and always scarce; this was the first U.S. metallic cartridge pistol. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
