Smith & Wesson Model 1 First Issue 6th Type Revolver
The Model 1 First Issue revolver was manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1857 to 1860 in six various types. This particular revolver is a Model One, 1st Issue, 6th Type and features a blade front and notch rear sights, 7 round un-fluted cylinder, spur trigger, silver plated brass frame with blue barrel and cylinder, and fitted with two-piece smooth rosewood grips which are numbered to the gun. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address and the cylinder is marked with the 1855 and 1858 patent dates.

Condition: Fine. The barrel shows strong original blue finish in protected areas with the balance having a smooth brown patina. The cylinder retains most of the original finish with some gray patina and minor pitting. The frame retains 80% original silver plating which is beginning to darken with age. The exposed brass has an aged patina. The grips are very fine with some lower edge wear and a few minor dings and dents. The barrel marking is clear. The barrel hinge is tight and the action is excellent.
