Manufactured between 1878 and 1892, this model was the first 32 Smith & Wesson centerfire caliber top break revolver that automatically ejected the spent cartridges when opened. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates, with two additional patent dates on the top strap. The matching serial number appears on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel latch and top strap under the latch. Pinned blade front and latch notch rear sights, nickel finish with blue latch and casehardened hammer and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips. Complete with the original green hinged lid box with end label for 3 1/2" barrel revolver and directions label affixed to the inside of the lid.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish with some muzzle wear and some flaking on the right side of the barrel and frame. There are a few overall scattered minor dings and scratches. The grips are also excellent with some lower edge wear, light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The box is very good with some corner wear, labels intact, separation of the inner wall and interior stains.
