Manufactured between 1861 and 1874. Smith & Wesson manufactured approximately 77, 000 of these revolvers. It was quite a popular personal sidearm with many officers and enlisted men during the Civil War. Standard one line Springfield rib address, cylinder patent dates and serial number on the butt. Silver blade front sight and fitted with smooth rosewood grips. Complete with a black leather military style flap holster.

Condition: Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina with a few minor dings on the right side of the frame. The grips are very good with much of an old revarnish remaining, some mild lower edge wear and a few overall scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are readable. The barrel hinge is tight and the action is very good. The holster is good with overall minor flex cracking and some absent stitching on the flap.
