Smith & Wesson Armorer's Kit

This is an example of a Smith & Wesson armorer's kit circa 1975. The face of the lock is marked "H. GERSTNER/&/SONS/DAYTON, O." with the number "450M27' marked on a side. Essentially, this wooden case is a chest of draws with a large compartment on the top. The top compartment is lined in green felt and a 3 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch" mirror is mounted on the inside of the lid. The front of the case has a panel that when removed exposes seven drawers of various sizes. Each drawer is lined with green felt. The bottom drawer has a H. Gerstner & Sons maker plate. An array of tools and parts are held in the case and are the following: eight wooden hand tool handles, brush, bar of lead, moon clips, punches, 15 various files, S&W inspection procedures and extra parts including springs, stainless and casehardened hammers and triggers, screws and ejector rods.

Very fine overall. The exterior of the otherwise fine case has barely noticeable handling marks with the hardware showing aging. The green felt shows typical wear and some moth damage.
