'.45 Hand Ejector,' an American made double-action revolver chambered for .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured between 1917-1946 in Springfield, MA. Approximately 163,600 of these revolvers were made for the U.S. Army. This revolver is outside of the U.S. Army's serial number range of 169959, which makes this pistol a commercial example of the .45 Hand Ejector. Revolver features a blued finish, 5-1/2" barrel, 6-shot fluted cylinder, forged round blade front sight, notched frame rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, knurled ejector rod head, color-case smooth curved trigger, color-case hammer with checkered spur, firing pin on hammer nose, checkered cylinder release, lanyard ring on the grip butt, and checkered diamond walnut two-piece grips. The number '180164' is stamped on the bottom of the grip butt, barrel, cylinder, and extractor star. An eagle's head with a 'S34' is a late assistant inspector proof marked on the barrel flat. Original blued finish remaining is approximately 75% with losses encompassing the frame, edge wear, scattered light scratches, and a drag line on the cylinder. Metal displays a fair amount of patina where the bluing has thinned, but there were no observed deformation. The bore is very good with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also very good. The chambers and bore are dirty. Grips are in excellent condition with superficial handling marks, and the action is smooth and crisp with a good lock-up.
Condition is Very Good.
