Included for bidding in this lot is a Smith & Wesson Double Action police, or military revolver, chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson Special. The revolver features a six-shot swing out cylinder, blue'd finish, 4" barrel, serrated trigger & hammer, Tray-Mershon hard rubber "Super-Grips", fixed sights, and gorgeous checkered walnut grips. The revolver is marked in numerous places, reading; "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel, "Smith & Wesson Springfield, MASS. U.S.A. - Patented Feb. 6. 06. Sept. 14. 09. Dec 29. 14." on the top of the barrel, "38 S. & W. SPECIAL CTG" on the right side of the barrel, "MADE IN U.S.A." on the right side of the frame, showing the trademark "S&W" Medallion on the right side of the frame, and on both sides of the walnut grips, lastly, the revolver is marked with matching serial numbers "S930202" on the butt of the grip, and on the back of the cylinder. The firearm shows good condition overall, with good blue finish, and very-good walnut fixtures - the finish does show some holster wear, and light pitting in spots. Mechanically the revolver is in good condition, showing a bright bore, with strong rifling, and very light pitting. The action is tight, and in good time, with good cylinder lockup. The revolver qualifies as a Curio & Relic Handgun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: S930202.
