*Smith & Wesson 29-2 .44 Mag SN: N390021
'The .44 Magnum' Large frame double action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum, manufactured circa 1976. This revolver is accompanied by a handwritten account of the revolvers history by Michael Wayne. The note details that the revolver was presented to John Wayne from Smith & Wesson and John later gave it to Michael Wayne as a birthday gift. S&W does not confirm this presentation in factory records. It is theorized by knowledgeable parties that the presentation was made through a distributor or dealer in Smith & Wesson on Smith & Wesson behalf. Features a bright nickel plated finish, pinned 8 3/8" heavy barrel with partially serrated wide sighting rib, raised ramp front sight with red insert, adjustable micrometer click rear sight with white outline, fluted six-shot cylinder with counterbored chambers, shrouded ejector rod, serrated .500 target trigger, .500" target hammer, three screw square butt N target frame with ten-groove grip straps and two-piece smooth Goncalo Alves target grips with silver S&W medallions. Includes a factory wood presentation case with blue velvet lined fitted interior, documents, Michael Wayne's hand written & signed account on his personal letterhead, screwdriver, cleaning tools and a brass plaque that reads "JOHN WAYNE." Revolver exhibits nearly all of it's original nickel plated finish showing a thin drag line on the cylinder and minor handling marks/superficial scratches. Action is smooth with very good lock-up, the bore is pristine, and the wood grips are extra fine. Condition is near NRA Perfect in case. ***Modern Firearm***
