Smith & Wesson .22 caliber first model, first issue, third variation, .22 caliber 7-shot cartridge revolver, blue and silver finish, rosewood grips, in original gutta percha case, serial #1391. Refer Flayderman 5G-003. The pistol remains in very good to near fine original condition showing 60-70% bright blue on barrel evenly drifting and toning with some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The cylinder show 10-20% original blue going to brown with good patent dates and some erosion pinprick pitting, mostly at the edges in front of cylinder. The frame shows 90% + thick original silver plate. The varnish wood grips are also very good with some slight wear at the edges, small scratches, and at least 80-90% varnish. The hammer shows considerable original case hardening, the spring shows considerable blue, the pistol is crisp overall with a good bore. The cylinder and barrel show #1 assembly number. The original gutta percha case shows velveteen inte9iro with original cartridge block, embossed lid, the interior very good plus to near fine, just some slight fading and wear at contact points.
