Smith & Wesson #2 army, .32 caliber single action rimfire revolver, blue finish, varnish rosewood grips with factory letter indicating 12 1864 to J.W. Storrs, New York, New York. Serial number 29074. This civil war period #2 army remains in very good plus to near fine condition with 75-85% ORIGINAL blue with some minor flaking, areas where flaked have gone to a natural light patina, with just some slight beginning erosion, pinprick pitting, and natural aging. The varnished wood grips are very good plus to near fine with some scratches, handling, and about 80-90% varnish. The hammer and ejector rod show 40-60% original case hardening, just starting to dull. The interior is very good plus and the hinges tight, action crisp, and the pistol has seen little use and is far above average for an early #2. Est.:$1,250-$2,500.
