Smith & Wesson 1st model 3rd issue .22 caliber single action revolver with rare factory 2 5/8” barrel, blued finish, varnished wood grips, serial number 98309. This revolver shows the correct side barreladdress which is centered and authenticates the barrel length. The pistol retains 60% to 80% original blue evenly drifting and toning with some scattered light to moderate pitting and erosion which is mostly on the cylinderand right side of barrel. The barrel is nicely hand engraved in script letters with agents name Claudin of Paris on left and his address on the Boulevard D’ Italiens. The action is good and the pistol is tight. Thehammer shows some case hardening. The grips show some scratches in the varnish and the Bore is bright. Est.: $500-$1,000
