Smith Poultney and Trimble, .52 caliber breech-loading carbine in fine to near excellent original condition, serial #6248. The barrel shows 95-98% original blue, some beginning light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting and some slight drifting to patina. The frame shows 85-95% case hardening, slightly dulling and starting to grey and silver. The latch shows 95% bright blue, the stocks are fine to excellent and show two razor sharp cartouches. The triggerguard shows 75-85% blue, the butt shows traces of case hardening going to grey with some erosion. The barrel band shows 30-40% darkened original blue. The saddle ring, small parts, and sights are all retained. The action is crisp, the bore excellent, and the carbine shows no use, just slight storage and minor discoloration. Est: $1,750 - $3,500
